The advantages of the container transportation are the following:
- The container is a separate transport unit that can be loaded on all kinds of transport vehicles on land and sea, which presumes the service "door to door".
- The cargo can be loaded in the warehouse of the shipper and unloaded in the warehouse of the consignee.
- The goods are stored better in a container, than in bulk on a ship, truck or plane.
- The shipper himself can stuff and fit the goods in the container. Who knows better than him the specifics of the cargo?
- Small consignments can be transported using the cheapest available transport — by sea.
- Container transportation has the biggest share in the sea transport of goods which results in lower prices and possibility to ship goods to every point in the world.
According to the statistics 50% of all cargo is transported in containers.
